Lady Chargers Shine in Thrilling Match Against Motlow State
In a highly anticipated Region 7 showdown, the Columbia State Lady Chargers hosted the Motlow State Lady Bucks in a fierce battle for first place. Fans filled the stands at Ridley Park, eager to witness a game that promised excitement and intensity—and it certainly delivered.
The match was a nail-biter, marked by aggressive plays and strategic maneuvers from both teams. As the clock ticked down, it was Ally Hawkins who broke the deadlock, scoring the first goal in the 78th minute with a brilliant assist from Cruz Grinolds. This remarkable goal not only put the Lady Chargers ahead but also secured Hawkins the title of top goal scorer in the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA). With her impressive performance, she now also leads the league in points, combining her goals and assists.
The momentum continued to build, and just eight minutes later, it was Cruz Grinolds who struck again, scoring the second goal in the 86th minute, this time assisted by Hawkins. With a commanding 2-0 lead, the Lady Chargers showcased their skill and teamwork, much to the delight of their home crowd.
