Coach Winston Neal Receives Prestigious NISOD Excellence Award for 2024

Columbia, TN – Columbia State Community College is proud to announce that Winston Neal, head men's basketball coach, has been awarded the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Excellence Award for 2024. This honor recognizes individuals who demonstrate extraordinary contributions to their campuses and communities.

Established in 1991, the NISOD Excellence Awards celebrate exceptional service and leadership among faculty and staff at member colleges. Since its inception, over 30,000 individuals have been recognized for their commitment to excellence in education.

The award was announced during Columbia State's convocation in January. Coach Neal, who has served as head coach since 2014, also teaches College Success and has played a vital role in various committees, including his position as PSO Chair.

"We are thrilled to see Coach Neal recognized for his outstanding contributions," said Katie Willingham, Director of Athletics. "His dedication to our students and the Columbia State community is truly inspiring."
