Lady Chargers Dominate Southwest with Doubleheader Sweep

The Lady Chargers Softball team hit the road yesterday for a TCCAA matchup against Southwest Tennessee Community College and came away with two decisive victories. The Lady Chargers powered past the Saluqis, winning both games in commanding fashion.

In Game One, the Lady Chargers secured a 13-4 victory, run-ruling Southwest Tennessee in just five innings. Their offense exploded for 15 hits, with multiple players contributing big performances at the plate.

• Jayla Davenport led the charge, going 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, two runs, and three RBIs.

• Bella Birdsong also had a strong outing, finishing 3-for-4 with two RBIs.

• Jaides Parrish delivered a home run, going 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs.

• Chloe West added two hits, including a double, while scoring three runs and knocking in one RBI.

• Mycah Price contributed with a double and two RBIs.

In the circle, Samantha Staggs was dominant, earning the win with five innings pitched, allowing five hits, one earned run, and recording five strikeouts.

The momentum carried into Game Two, where the Lady Chargers secured a 10-1 victory to complete the sweep.

• Samantha Staggs helped her own cause, blasting a home run while finishing 1-for-4 with a run and an RBI.

• Bella Birdsong continued to shine, hitting 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

• Mycah Price and Madison Arel each collected two hits, with Arel driving in a run.

• Jaides Parrish reached base and scored three times.

Samantha Staggs earned her second win of the day, tossing four innings, allowing four hits and three earned runs, while striking out five.

With the sweep, the Lady Chargers improve to 6-19 overall and 5-7 in TCCAA play. They will look to build on their momentum as they travel to Motlow State on Wednesday for another conference showdown.
