Lady Chargers Show Power at the Plate but Drop Two to Dyersburg State
The Lady Chargers returned to Eddie Campbell Field on Saturday, April 20, to host Dyersburg State in a TCCAA doubleheader. Despite a powerful offensive showing in game one, the Lady Chargers came up short in both games, falling 11-7 in the opener and 10-1 in the nightcap.
Game One Recap:
Game one saw an offensive spark from the Lady Chargers, who tallied seven hits from seven different players. Abigail Brown delivered the big blow with a three-run home run, continuing her strong season at the plate. Samantha Staggs contributed by going 1-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI. Mycah Price was 1-for-4, also adding a run and an RBI.
Jaides Parrish came through with a double and two RBIs, while Bella Birdsong, Reagan Burleson, and Chloe West each chipped in with a hit.
Samantha Staggs started in the circle and took the loss for the Lady Chargers.
Game Two Recap:
In game two, the Lady Chargers struggled to generate offense, managing just five hits in a 10-1 loss. Chloe West led the team with a pair of hits, while Madison Arel, Jaylee Warren, and Samantha Staggs each added a base knock.
With the losses, the Lady Chargers now shift their focus to a road rematch. They'll travel to Dyersburg State on Wednesday, April 23, for another TCCAA doubleheader with hopes of bouncing back and evening the series.
