Lady Chargers and Chargers Take on Roane State in Region 7 Matchup
The Lady Chargers and Chargers hit the road to Harriman, TN, on Saturday, December 7th to face the Roane State Raiders in a Region 7 showdown.
The Lady Chargers continued their stellar season with a commanding 94-77 victory, maintaining their tie for first place in the region with Walters State, as both teams hold perfect 6-0 records in Region 7 play. Ansley Burleson led the charge with a standout performance, scoring 30 points and grabbing 7 rebounds. Jacqueline Hardrick added 22 points and 7 rebounds, while freshman Jacie Scott contributed 16 points and 6 rebounds to the win. The Lady Chargers now look ahead to a non-conference game against Itawamba Community College on Wednesday, Dec. 11.
Meanwhile, the #21-ranked Chargers faced a tough night, falling 59-81 to the Roane State Raiders. Despite the loss, Taveon Comage led the team with 15 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists. Thaddeus Johnson chipped in 10 points and 2 rebounds, while Mahki Wright and Jamison Glass showcased their efforts on the boards with 9 and 7 rebounds, respectively, alongside their scoring contributions. The Chargers will take a brief break from Region 7 play and face Tennessee Valley Prep on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at Columbia Central High School at 12 p.m.
