Lady Chargers Secure Thrilling Victory Over Chattanooga State
In an electrifying Region 7 matchup at Webster Gym, the Lady Chargers edged out the Chattanooga State Lady Tigers in a nail-biter, winning 63-61. Freshman standout Jacie Scott led the charge with 16 points and 5 assists, showcasing her scoring and playmaking abilities. Fellow freshmen Braley Burleson and Lily Melton contributed 14 points and 12 points, respectively, with Melton also grabbing 5 rebounds. Sophomore Ansley Burleson added 11 points and made her presence felt defensively with 4 blocks. Freshman Jacqueline Hardrick chipped in with 8 points and a team-high 7 rebounds.
The game's dramatic conclusion came with 0.2 seconds left on the clock when Ansley Burleson was fouled. With the game tied, Burleson stepped to the free-throw line and coolly sank both shots, sealing the victory for the Lady Chargers.
