Lady Chargers Earn Hard-Fought Road Win Over Pellissippi State
The Lady Chargers hit the road Saturday for a Region 7 matchup against the Pellissippi State Lady Panthers in Knoxville, coming away with a hard-fought 57-52 victory. The win improves Columbia State to 11-8 overall and 10-3 in conference play.
Freshman Jacqueline Hardrick led the charge with 13 points and seven rebounds, while fellow freshmen Lily Melton and Jacie Scott each contributed double-doubles. Melton tallied 13 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks, while Scott posted 13 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists. Sophomore Ansley Burleson made a huge impact on the boards, pulling down an impressive 24 rebounds to go along with 11 points, including a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.
The Lady Chargers return home to Webster Gym on Wednesday, February 5th, to take on the Green Jays from Jackson State at 5:30 PM.
