Lady Chargers Dominate Cleveland State
The Columbia State Lady Chargers secured a commanding 88-57 victory over the Cleveland State Lady Cougars in a Region 7 showdown at Webster Athletic Center on Saturday.
Freshman Lily Melton led the charge with an impressive 26 points and 9 rebounds, going a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line. Sophomore Ansley Burleson recorded a dominant double-double with 19 points, 17 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 blocks. Freshman Jacie Scott contributed 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists, while freshman Jacqueline Hardrick added 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists.
With this win, the Lady Chargers improve to 13-8 overall and 12-3 in conference play, holding strong in second place. Up next, they will face the third-place Dyersburg State Lady Eagles in another crucial Region 7 matchup on Wednesday, February 12, at Webster Gym.
