Lady Chargers Triumph Over Dyersburg State
The Columbia State Lady Chargers secured a crucial victory in last night's Region 7 rematch against Dyersburg State, winning 74-64 at home. After a tough loss to Dyersburg in December, the Lady Chargers were determined to come out on top in this highly anticipated game.
Sophomore Ansley Burleson delivered an outstanding performance, leading all scorers with 30 points. She was flawless at the free-throw line, going 3 for 3, and contributed 4 rebounds. Freshman Jacie Scott added 12 points and 6 rebounds, while fellow freshman Lily Melton scored 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
The Lady Chargers saw contributions from every player on the court. Jacqueline Hardrick scored 8 points, Braley Burleson and Queen Benjamin each added 5 points, and Tennley Dowty chipped in with 4 points.
With this win, the Lady Chargers improved their record to 14-8 overall and 13-3 in conference play. They will aim to continue their momentum when they host the Lady Raiders from Roane State on Saturday, Feb. 15th at 2 p.m. in the Webster Gym.
