Lady Chargers Take Down #8 Motlow State in Hard-Fought 1-0 Victory
The Columbia State Lady Chargers earned an impressive 1-0 win over the nationally ranked Motlow State Lady Bucks on Thursday night at Ridley Park. Motlow entered the match ranked #8 in the nation, setting the stage for a highly physical and competitive contest.
The lone goal of the night came in the 83rd minute when Eva Galloway found the back of the net, giving the Lady Chargers the late lead they needed to secure the win. Goalkeeper Rory Burgess anchored the defense with a standout performance, recording nine saves to preserve the shutout.
With this victory, Columbia State improves to 9-5-1 overall and 7-3-1 in TCCAA play.
The Lady Chargers return to action on Sunday, October 12, when they host the Chattanooga State Lady Tigers at 5 p.m. at Ridley Park.
