Chargers Fall to Volunteer State in Series Opener, 12-6
The Chargers baseball team traveled north to take on Volunteer State in TCCAA action, but despite a solid effort, they fell short with a 12-6 loss.
Sophomore Jake Cardin started on the mound, pitching 4.2 innings, allowing 6 hits, 6 earned runs, and striking out 5. The Chargers' offense tallied 9 hits, with Clint Seymore leading the charge, going 3-for-4 with 2 doubles, 1 RBI, and scoring 3 runs. Cade Hitson contributed, going 2-for-4, while Hutson Miles, John Carter, Derek Valentin-Luciano, and Michael McClellan (double) each added a hit to the effort.
The Chargers will look to bounce back as they face the Pioneers again on Saturday in a doubleheader to wrap up the series.
