Chargers Baseball Secures Series Win Against Volunteer State
This weekend, the Chargers Baseball team hit the road for a TCCAA series against Volunteer State, securing a series win by taking two out of three games.
In Game One, the Chargers fell 12-6 despite solid individual performances. Cade Hitson went 2-for-4 with two doubles, while Clint Seymore impressed with a 3-for-4 outing, scoring three runs and collecting an RBI. John Carter contributed with a 1-for-3 performance, driving in two runs. Hutson Miles, Derek Valentin-Luciano, and Michael McClellan (who doubled) each added a hit. On the mound, Jake Cardin took the loss, pitching 4.2 innings, allowing six hits and six earned runs, with one walk and five strikeouts.
The Chargers bounced back in Game Two, claiming a 7-4 victory. Adam Jamison earned the win, delivering five shutout innings with four hits, three walks, and three strikeouts. Arturo Rodriguez powered the offense, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBIs, and a home run. Kaito Muto went 2-for-2 with an RBI, while Jackson Riedling added a 2-for-3 performance with a run. Cade Hitson continued his strong series, going 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Seymore, Tyler Jenkins, and Brady Hendrix each contributed a hit.
In the decisive Game Three, the Chargers dominated with a 5-0 shutout. Tyler Jenkins led the offense, going 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Hits from Hutson Miles, Clint Seymore, Arturo Rodriguez, Brady Hendrix, and Kaito Muto added to the Chargers' offensive effort. On the mound, Dylan Alonso was stellar, pitching 6.1 innings of one-hit baseball, with two walks and ten strikeouts, sealing the series win.
