Chargers Sweep #23 Southwest Tennessee in Three-Game Series
The Chargers delivered an impressive performance over the weekend, sweeping #23 Southwest Tennessee Saluqis in a three-game TCCAA matchup at Dave Hall Field.
Sunday Thriller
The series opener on Sunday, March 16, saw the Chargers edge out an 8-7 victory. Sophomore Jake Cardin earned the win with an outstanding 8-inning performance, allowing 8 hits, 2 earned runs, and striking out 7. Offensively, Hutson Miles led the way, going 2-for-4 with a triple, 2 runs, and 2 RBIs. Tyler Jenkins contributed with a 1-for-3 performance, including a double and 2 RBIs. Clint Seymore also made an impact, going 1-for-4 with a double and 2 RBIs. Brady Hendrix, Michael McClellan, Derek Valentin-Luciano, and Arturo Rodriguez each added hits to round out the offensive attack.
Monday Doubleheader Dominance
The Chargers carried their momentum into Monday, securing victories in both games of the doubleheader.
In Game Two, the Chargers exploded offensively in an 18-6 rout. Hutson Miles went 2-for-3 with 3 runs and an RBI, while Tyler Jenkins contributed a hit and 2 RBIs. Clint Seymore launched a home run, finishing 1-for-3 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs. Arturo Rodriguez added another homer, going 2-for-3 with 2 runs and 2 RBIs. Camden Vaughn was also productive, finishing 2-for-3 with 2 runs and 2 RBIs. Cade Hitson had a standout performance, going 2-for-2 with 2 home runs, 2 runs, and 5 RBIs. Brady Hendrix added a double, and Russ Lambert chipped in with a hit and an RBI. Adam Jamison secured the win, pitching 4 innings with 5 hits, 6 earned runs, and 4 strikeouts.
Game Three saw the Chargers complete the sweep with a 9-7 victory. Tyler Jenkins delivered a key 3-run home run, finishing 1-for-4.
