Chargers Battle #8 Walters State in Narrow Loss
The Chargers Baseball team made the trip to Morristown, TN on Friday for a TCCAA matchup against nationally ranked No. 8 Walters State. In a hard-fought 9-inning game, the Chargers came up just short, falling 9-10 to the Senators.
Hutson Miles led the Chargers at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a home run and 5 RBIs. Cade Hitson added a big bat as well, finishing 2-for-4 with a homer and 2 RBIs. Brady Hendrix and Clint Seymore each recorded two hits in five at-bats. John Carter, Tyler Jenkins, Camden Vaughn, and Michael McClellan each contributed a hit to round out the Chargers' offensive efforts.
Jake Cardin took the loss on the mound, pitching 5 innings, allowing 14 hits and 8 earned runs while striking out 4.
The Chargers return to action tomorrow with a doubleheader against Walters State, beginning at 11 a.m.
