Chargers Stay Alive in TCCAA Tournament
The Chargers Baseball team kept their postseason hopes alive Tuesday morning with a convincing 6-1 victory over Jackson State in an elimination game at the TCCAA Tournament.
Clint Seymore led the offensive charge, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored, a double, a home run, and one RBI. Brady Hendrix also delivered a big swing, launching a home run and driving in two runs while going 1-for-4. Hutson Miles added two hits in five trips to the plate, while Cade Hitson chipped in with an RBI single. Camden Vaughn finished 1-for-3, and Kaito Muto made the most of his lone at-bat, going 1-for-1 with a run scored and an RBI.
On the mound, Dylan Alonso was dominant, earning the win with a masterful 8-inning performance. Alonso allowed just six hits and one earned run while striking out 14 batters to shut down the Jackson State offense.
With the win, the Chargers advance to face Southwest Tennessee today at 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time as they continue their run through the tournament bracket.
